ARCHETYPE RESEARCH
The brief for this exercise was to select three Exemplar houses from Architecture Firms (1 International, 2 Australian) and briefly research.
House 1 - The Gold Coast Pavilion (Innovarchi Architects).
The Gold Coast Pavilion house designed by Architects Innovarchi is two double storey pavilions separated by an external performance terrace, with parking to its underside. Unlike the usual beach front house, this house is a hard edged glass box. The entire top floor was to be complete glass "a fish tank where you can get dressed" while the lower storey comprised a dance studio.
House 2 - Isaacson/Davis Beach House (John Wardle Architects).
The Isaacson/Davis Beach House serves as a "weekender" for the clients. This house was designed to be unpacked on arrival and packed back up again on departure, following the intentions of its guests. The house was designed for its location, using rough material that adapt to the environment and its clients way of life. If dirty, the house can be hosed or brushed out.
